How do you obtain your accounting certification?
In order to obtain a Pastel bookkeeping certification through IIT, you will have to complete the relevant exams applicable to the course. Once you’ve passed these exams, you will be a qualified junior bookkeeper.

Your starting salary can range from N$ 3 500 to N$ 6 000 per month, which is an impressive starting salary in Namibia

Course: Pastel Accounting Course
Profile: Any person who is responsible for the financial accounting of a business. Any person who runs their own business and wishes to either become competent to do the financial accounting themselves, or wants to understand the Pastel environment enough to act as a backup for their accounting clerk.
Aim of course: This Pastel course will provide the student with overviews of the basics of pastel partner software as well as some intermediate features. The Pastel course is concluded with a discussion of your own unique accounting problems.
Prerequisites and Entrance Requirement:
Grade 12 with Accounting or relevant work experience. The student must be computer literate and must have an understanding of basic accounting principles. No knowledge of Pastel software is required.

Overview
Navigation tools within Pastel, Online Help and how Pastel implements the basic accounting principles.

Setting up Accounts:
Learn how to create General Ledger, Customer and Supplier Accounts in Pastel. As well as Sales Analysis codes, Cost codes and Inventory Items

Supplier Processing:
Learn how to process Supplier documents including Purchases Orders, Goods Received Notes, Supplier Invoices, Debit and Credit Notes made easy by Pastel.

Customer Processing:
Learn how to process Customer documents, including Sales Invoices, Sales Orders, Quotations, Recurring invoices, Debit and Credit Notes.

Multi-Stores:
Understand how to set up and operate different stores for processing.

General Ledger Processing:
Learn how to make Cash Book Deposits and Payments, as well as petty cash. Enter transactions in the journal and complete a Bank Reconciliation using Pastel.

Taxes:
Set up tax parameters for inventory, general ledger, customer and supplier accounts. Change tax types and generate Tax Reports

Periodic Processing:
Perform an inventory-count. Generate a number of Month end Reports and run through the Year End procedure with Pastel accounting software.

Part time 14h00 – 17h00 Monday - Friday 2 Weeks
Full time 08h00 – 12h00 Monday - Friday 2 Weeks

The NBI national exam is Compulsory and students who fail the exam will not receive the NBI Certification
